The UFC fighter may appear as a "Legend" in the upcoming wrestling game.
Brock Lesnar's stay in World Wrestling Entertainment may have been controversial (especially towards the end), but it's no doubt memorable, thanks to a series of matches and plenty of attitude. And even though he's since gone on to flourish with a career in UFC, that isn't stopping him from returning to his old stomping grounds -- virtually, at least.
A report from PWInsider.com has indicated that Lesnar will be included in THQ's upcoming WWE 12 as a playable character in the game, under the "Legends" category. This came after some heavy talks between the company and Lesnar, with some side permission from the UFC itself. (It helps, by the way, that THQ also works closely with UFC on its own games, including the upcoming Undisputed 3.)
Eventually, an agreement was reached, as UFC said it was fine to use Lesnar as long as it was within a wrestler capacity, rather than an MMA capacity. Considering that was what the development team was going for, it seems to be smooth sailing from here.
Even though it's not as established as other performers, Lesnar's wrestling style is undeniable, featuring a number of power grabs and throws, as well as his devastating finisher, the F5, where he throws his opponent cross-body wise after hoisting him in the air.
THQ has yet to confirm this, though the company has been hinting at a "big announcement" for the game for some time. This looks like it'll be the case, though we should have details -- and video -- shortly.
Lesnar has no plans to take part in promotion for the video game, but his presence should speak volumes in itself, so no biggie. Besides, Zack Ryder could probably promote it better anyway -- and he's in the game too. Woo woo woo, you know it.
Still don't think Lesnar has what it takes to pummel folks in WWE 12? Check out the video below to see a hint of this guy's power. He and Big Show BROKE THE FRICKIN' RING! (Go to about 8:15 in to see the highlight.)
WWE 12 arrives in stores on November 22nd for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii.
